This elementary piano trio for one piano, 6 hands, is arranged from her piano solo w/vocals of the same title, ‘Cruising Down the Nile’. This work is in her ‘Noah’s Ark Series’ that introduces different music styles in a global setting. The animals of the specific regions are the lyrical guides, in this case the hippos and crocodiles. The music style is that of mid-eastern music and explores both harmonic and natural minors, using upper tetrachords of each. Sounds very exotic. Form is: intro A B A coda. In the trio piano 2 carries the melody, piano 1 performs counter melodies, and piano 3 performs rhythmic ostinati establishing tempo and key (s). Lots of fun!
